Public Policy
As a leader in the human services and nonprofit sectors, VOA-Greater New York tirelessly advocates for the needs of those we serve, and the welfare of organizations in our field, by seeking better policies, systems and processes.
We draw upon the extensive experience of our team as well as the lived experience of our clients to fight for legislation, funding and other changes that can help us work more effectively toward our vision of ending homelessness in the Greater New York area by 2050. Our staff are active in voicing to policymakers how to make transformational change by presenting testimony to New York City Council and elsewhere.
Given our experience as part of a coalition that has ended chronic homelessness for veterans in New York City, we know that public policy and partnerships will play a crucial role in advancing our vision.
