Over $2 Million Raised in Five Years of The Honickman Companies Golf Invitational

Funds raised benefit Volunteers of America-Greater New York and United Negro College Fund.

September 16, 2024 – NEW YORK, NY — The Honickman Companies, Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-GNY), and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) today announced $550,000 was raised at The Honickman Companies 5th Annual Golf Invitational event held on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Championed by The Honickman Companies’ leadership, the event has raised over $2 million since it was first held in 2020. All proceeds benefit VOA-GNY and UNCF.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better day supporting our community partners at Volunteers of America–Greater New York and United Negro College Fund,” said Reginald Goins, President and COO of The Honickman Companies. “Our team, business partners and donors came together for a day of golf, food, and celebration to show their support for what we have accomplished together.”

The Angela and Reginald Goins Charity Fund continued its tradition of personally matching all contributions made at the event. Goins serves as Chairman of the Board for VOA-GNY and sits on the UNCF New York Leadership Council.

The Honickman Companies is a proud sponsor of VOA-GNY and annually supports its Operation Backpack® initiative, which provides backpacks and school supplies for children experiencing homelessness, as well as the organization’s signature fundraising gala in New York City, which benefits VOA-GNY’s 70+ housing, health, and wealth-building programs across the region.

Event attendees included current LPGA professional Mariah Stackhouse, former Philadelphia Phillies & New York Yankees player Mariano Duncan, current New York Mets shortstop Ronny Mauricio, and Former NBA player & St. John’s All-American Walter Berry, along with Volunteers of America National President and CEO Mike King and executives from The Honickman Companies, VOA-GNY, and UNCF.
