
In an effort to encourage young people to contribute to their communities by volunteering their time and talent, and to help schools and other institutions facilitate such activities, Volunteers of America has produced a guide called New York Youth Contributing. Thousands of nonprofits in the New York City area need volunteers and we have profiled just a handful of them here, but it is our hope that this guide will stimulate interest and encourage young people to explore the myriad volunteer opportunities available to them.
